Ilios is a 2012 AWSSR Registered Stallion, (Hano/TB). He is recorded with Westfalen NA as well. All of his offspring (even to unregistered, crossbred, or grade mares) can be inspected, registered and branded (optional) with AWSSR.
Ilios stands 16.2 hands tall but tends to produce offspring of 16.3 to 17.1 plus hands. He is tall, leggy, with a beautiful statuesque uphill sporthorse build. He’s got correct confirmation with straight legs, hardy/sturdy feet, lots of transmission in his rear end, beautiful fuller bone structure but still refined.... (read more) He’s got a nice shoulder, gorgeous cresty warmblood neck, pretty head and kind eye. Ilios has chrome and isn’t stingy with it... He shares it with the majority of his offspring. He is athletic, floaty, suspended and elastic in his movement with natural collection and shoulder/haunches in. He free jumps beautifully with incredible scope, tuck and form... pretty and graceful enough for the hunters, high and quick enough for the jumpers, elegant enough for upper level Dressage. He has some of the best event blood, (which he was originally, strategically bred for) but versatile enough that his offspring can excel in any direction. Ilios is very quiet, gentle, well mannered and a gentleman breeder. He has an extremely high sperm count and 100 percent fertility rate. He is WFFS N/N.
He is the gentlest horse at our farm and everybody’s favorite. Ilios passes all of his amazing attributes down to his offspring. He gives all his babies a great brain with very easy trainability. One of his best noted qualities is how smart, easy and willing his offspring are to break and train and he has had numerous repeat customers come back to repeat the cross. He is quite under rated... one of the top up and coming sporthorse stallions in the area... He (live cover) bred 43 mares in 2020, exceeding more live covers recorded than any stallion in the state of WV. He possesses all the same qualities and attributes as some of today’s top WB sporthorse stallions. (Do not confuse registry status with quality.) His offspring are FEI and AA friendly and his 3-6 year olds are excelling in all directions and disciplines. Sadly, Ilios was injured as a weanling and due to the nature of his injuries, never had a show career but it has not at all effected his career as a stud. Because he was deemed unsound for riding, he was not able to complete the performance tests and was therefore ineligible for inspection and registration with AHS or Old NA. Ilios’s pedigree is superb and a very nice outcross to other more familiar big names/lines. His Sire “Wellsaid” is a major stakes placed black type TB. And the sire of many successful top Event horses. Ilios’s Dam Sidnae (deceased) was a prelim Event horse. She is sired by Salieri, who is an Olympic show jumper and Dressage horse (which in itself is very impressive) but he is also the sire to 4 time Olympic gold medalist In Dressage Salinero and Olympic gold medalist show jumper Seven up. Breyer has created a collectible Salinero horse model. Ilios has numerous half siblings competing in upper levels of Show jumping, Dressage and Eventing, as well as Fox hunting first flight. Further back on his sires side of his pedigree is major stakes placed winner AP Indy (who is well known for producing not only fast race horses,) but incomparable steeple chasers and event mounts. Further back you will see two triple crown winners... Seattle Slew and Secretariat and even good ole Northern Dancer. Ilios’s half brother “Landamongthestars” aka Diego is a Gov approved TB stallion also standing locally in WV. Two of Ilios’s foals from his first crop in 2016 were top in the nation with AWSSR, another was the top yearling for 2017. Ilios has bred all types of mares, from draft crosses, paints, Qh’s, Holsteiners, Trekhaners, Hanoverians, Sachen WB’s, Canadian Sporthorses and WB’s, Belgian WB’s, KWPN’s and even a Mustang, POA and Dutch Harness mare, just to name a few diverse breeds. His amazing attributes are quite dominant, so he’ll improve just about any mare. He is just a really cool dude who is the whole package. His 2023 live cover stud fee is: $650 which includes 2 weeks of mare care. We do in hand live cover only for safety and accuracy. (No pasture breeding) Negitive Coggins required within 1 year of mare drop off. Live foal guarantee!
